Job summary

UC Health is hiring a Full-Time Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for the 5th floor Med Surg unit for Day Shift at West Chester Hospital. The PCA provides direct patient care under supervision, maintains safety and comfort, and supports nurses with routine tasks.

Strong teamwork, CPR knowledge, and willingness to learn are essential. The position includes opportunities for growth, patient-care responsibilities, and a learning environment with emphasis on safety and quality care in a renowned hospital

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–6 months of experience required; 1–2 years preferred.
• CPR certification and basic patient care skills.
• UC Health competency training for PCA if no credential.
• Able to assist with ADLs and mobility.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic direct patient care as delegated by licensed staff.
• Measure and document vital signs and patient status.
• Assist with activities of daily living and hygiene tasks.
• Support mobility and use lift equipment for safe handling.
• Assist with meals, feeding, and nutrition monitoring as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
• Communicate observations to the nurse promptly.
