Job summary

Theuniversityunion is seeking a dedicated health unit aide to welcome patients and families, assist with admission orientation, and support clinical teams on the unit. You will respond to call lights, perform routine rounds, and help with activities of daily living to ensure patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities include assisting with wound care, dressing changes, and specimen handling under RN supervision, plus accurate documentation in Meditech and maintaining a clean, organized work

Qualifications

• BLS required on hire and maintained throughout employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years direct patient care experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients and families, orients to call light, TV, bed functions and hospital policies.
• Responds to call lights, conducts regular rounds and assists with activities of daily living.
• Assists RN with wound care, dressings and catheterization; reports changes promptly.
• Enters orders and documents vitals in Meditech; manages patient data accurately.
• Maintains unit cleanliness and readiness, orders supplies and supports transport/discharge.
• Provides courteous service to physicians, staff, patients and visitors.
