Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is hiring a Registered Nurse for Med Surg 5W. The role emphasizes utilizing the nursing process to provide patient care, coordinating care with other departments, and maintaining patient rights and confidentiality.

New graduate nurses are welcome, with a full-time schedule of 36 hours per week on day shifts. A sign-on bonus is offered for experienced and new graduate nurses, up to $10,000 and $5,000 respectively.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following.
• Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.
• Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.
• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred: BSN
• Preferred: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications

Schedule: Full-Time | 36 hours/week

Shift: Days | 7:00AM-7:30PM

Sign-On Bonus:

• Experienced Nurses: Up to $10,000
• New Graduate Nurses (less than 1 year of experience): Up to $5,000

About the Unit — Med Surg 5W

Med Surg 5W cares for adult medical patients with diagnoses such as small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia. This unit provides an excellent environment to strengthen core Med Surg skills, enhance assessment abilities, and manage patients with diverse medical needs.

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma

Certifications:

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
