Mercy Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Med Surg 5W at our St. Louis area location. This full-time role runs days from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and welcomes new grads as well as experienced nurses. A sign-on bonus is available: up to $10,000 for experienced nurses and up to $5,000 for new grads.

The Med Surg 5W unit cares for adults with various medical conditions, emphasizing strong assessment, collaboration with the care team, and adherence to Mercy standards.

Formación

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following.
• RN license in Missouri or compact licensure.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

Schedule: Full-Time | 36 hours/week

Shift: Days | 7:00AM-7:30PM

Sign-On Bonus:

• Experienced Nurses: Up to $10,000
• New Graduate Nurses (less than 1 year of experience): Up to $5,000

About the Unit — Med Surg 5W

Med Surg 5W cares for adult medical patients with diagnoses such as small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia. This unit provides an excellent environment to strengthen core Med Surg skills, enhance assessment abilities, and manage patients with diverse medical needs.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications:

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: BSN preferred
• Licensure: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience: Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
