Tennova Healthcare - North Knoxville Medical Center is seeking a Nursing (RN) Director of Med/Surg to lead the medical-surgical department. The role focuses on safe, high-quality patient care, strategic direction, and operational excellence while supporting staff development and patient satisfaction.

The Director will oversee budgeting, staffing, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to drive improvement and efficiency across the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required or 7+ years of direct experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in closely related field with Bachelor's degree required.
• 3-5 years of previous leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees clinical operations in the medical-surgical department, ensuring patient care is safe and compliant.
• Manages departmental budgets, staffing and resources to maintain financial efficiency.
• Leads quality improvement initiatives and monitors KPIs and outcomes.
• Collaborates with physicians, nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams for care coordination.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and participates in audits and accreditation.
• Fosters staff development, performance evaluations and succession planning.
• Communicates with leadership, stakeholders and external partners.
