Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center is actively seeking an LPN/LVN for the Med-Surg unit in Lewiston, ME. This full-time night shift role supports direct patient care, care coordination, and documentation in a busy hospital environment.

The ideal candidate holds an LPN/LVN license, IV and BW certifications within 90 days of hire, and a current BLS certification. Night shifts, patient safety, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required.
• IV certification and Blood Withdrawal (BW) certification within 90 days of hire date.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Work experience in health care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside patient care in a Med-Surg environment
• Monitor vital signs, patient status, and clinical changes
• Assist with medication administration, IV therapy, and blood draws
• Support care plans and patient throughput
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
• Ensure patient safety, infection control, and compliance
• Document care in EMR/EHR systems
• Communicate changes in patient condition promptly
