Job summary

Appling Healthcare is seeking an experienced Med Surg / ICU Free Charge RN to lead daily clinical operations without a patient assignment. You will coordinate staffing, act as a clinical resource, and ensure safe, high-quality care across Med Surg and ICU units.

The role requires RN licensure, a BSN preferred, and 3–5 years of acute care experience. BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI are required, with strong leadership and infusion therapy competencies emphasized.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of acute care experience (Med Surg and/or ICU).
• BLS, ACLS (ICU setting), PALS, CPI required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily staffing assignments and patient flow for Med Surg and ICU units.
• Act as the primary clinical resource for nursing staff during the shift.
• Provide real-time problem-solving and decision-making support.
• Facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges efficiently.
• Ensure adherence to evidence-based practices, policies, and procedures.
• Oversee outpatient infusion services, ensuring safe administration of therapies.
• Mentor and support nursing staff, including new hires and float staff.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care coordination.
• Monitor quality indicators and support quality improvement initiatives.
