Job summary

The Med Surg / ICU Free Charge RN is responsible for overseeing daily clinical operations within the assigned unit(s) without a patient assignment. This role provides leadership, coordination of patient care activities, staff support, and ensures high-quality, safe, and efficient care delivery.

The Free Charge RN serves as a clinical resource and liaison between staff, physicians, and leadership, including oversight of outpatient infusion services and related safety practices.

Qualifications

• Current RN license (state-specific).
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of acute care experience (Med Surg and/or ICU).
• BLS required; ACLS required (ICU setting), PALS required, CPI Required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily staffing assignments and patient flow for Med Surg and ICU units.
• Act as the primary clinical resource for nursing staff during the shift.
• Provide real-time problem-solving and decision-making support.
• Oversee outpatient infusion services and related safety practices.
