Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant license or certification.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, DIA, DNV, OSHA and other regulatory guidelines.
• Maintains current licenses and/or certifications.
• Completes annual education and competency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Answers call lights to determine patient needs and assist or alert nurse.
• Performs a.m. and p.m. cares including baths, dressing, undressing, oral care and hygiene.
• Assists with meals, passes nourishments, and feeds patients needing help.
• Gives bedpans and urinals; assists patients to bathroom or commode.
• Ambulates patients, repositions them, and helps with mobility and transport.
• Records vital signs and weights as directed; reports unusual conditions to nurse.
• Helps keep patient rooms neat; changes linens; runs errands and directs visitors.
• Assists in maintenance of equipment and supplies; participates in team decisions.
• Strives for high patient satisfaction and meets customer expectations.
