Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking a Med/Surg CNA for 1 West at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. The role supports RN staff on a fast-paced CardioPulmonary Med/Surg unit with 30 hours per week on the day shift (7a-7p) and rotating weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, communication with patients and families, and assisting with unit readiness. Competitive benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid CNA certificate from the State of Maine.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care activities within the scope of practice.
• Assists patients with meeting their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Greets patients and visitors; answers, screens, and routes telephone calls; calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested.
• Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Assists with keeping unit and patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.
