Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana seeks a compassionate Nurse Aide (CNA) to assist with basic patient care under licensed nurse supervision. You will monitor patients, notify nursing staff of changes, and help maintain a safe, clean care environment.

Preferred candidates hold a High School diploma or GED, CNA certification, BLS and CPI to be obtained within 30 days of hire. Prior hospital/telemetry experience is a plus and the team values effective communication and reliable scheduling.

Qualifications

• CNA certification required
• BLS (American Heart Association) to be obtained within 30 days from hire
• CPI (Crisis Prevention and Intervention) to be obtained within 30 days from hire
• Preferred hospital and telemetry experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain an organized work environment

Responsibilities

• Supports the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification
• Maintains a clean and safe environment in the patient care area
• Provides care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served
• Communicates patient care needs effectively with patients, families, and other staff members
• Completes documentation of patient related tasks
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population and requests permissions as needed
• Performs other related duties as assigned
