Ochsner Health in New Orleans is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support patient care under direct supervision of a licensed nurse. You will assist with daily activities, monitor patient safety, and communicate effectively with the care team.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred) and certification as a CNA with BLS and CPI within 30 days of hire. Hospital or telemetry experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability).

Responsabilités

• Supports the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment in the patient care area.
• Provides care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned areas.
• Communicates patient care needs effectively with patients, families, and other staff members, including multi-disciplinary teams.
• Completes documentation of patient related tasks.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: privacy, introduction, explanation, permissions and communication style.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
