Wayne County Hospital in Monticello, KY is seeking a full-time Medical-Surgical staff member to provide indirect patient care, assist with family and staff communication, and maintain unit records. The role may require day shifts with possible nights to ensure shift coverage.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and current BCLS certification (can be obtained after hire). Strong communication, basic computer skills, and knowledge of medical terminology are preferred but not required.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Provides indirect patient care in the medical surgical setting. Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff and medical staff. Prepares and compiles records in the Medical Surgical Unit. Initiates directions from physician and nursing staff. Participates in performance improvement activities. Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies and procedures and standards. Performs other duties as assigned.

TYPE: Full-Time; Days –primarily (but may be required to work any day/night shift to assist with providing shift coverage).

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current BCLS Certification (can be obtained after employed).
• SKILLS:
• Proficient oral and written communication skills.
• Basic Computer Knowledge
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred but not required.
