Job summary

Emory Healthcare in Atlanta is seeking a Charge Nurse to plan, direct and supervise the daily operations of a clinical unit. You will mentor staff, coordinate staffing, and ensure quality patient care while aligning with organizational mission and values.

You will lead communication with physicians and administrators, model expert nursing practice, and support risk management and education initiatives within the unit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program.
• 1 year of recent post-graduation nursing experience.
• Valid, unencumbered Georgia RN license.
• BLS certification; ACLS may be required depending on department; active compact license (eNLC) within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Mentor other RNs to the role and functions of Charge Nurse.
• Lead and coordinate team behavior; foster leadership in others.
• Provide direction on policies, scheduling and daily operations.
• Conduct performance reviews with Nurse Manager input.
• Incorporate the Synergy model for care in assignments.
• Evaluate resources and coordinate unit staffing to meet needs.
• Participate in regulatory reviews and budget planning.
• Support communication and resolve staff conflicts; counsel as needed.
