Job summary

Willis-Knighton Health System is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our 13-bed Med-Surg observation floor as a Charge Nurse on the Day shift in Shreveport, LA. You will lead a tight-knit team, support physicians during rounds, and ensure smooth shift operations while maintaining exceptional patient care.

The ideal candidate will have Med-Surg experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and a passion for high-quality, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing.
• Med-Surg nursing experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Med-Surg team on Day shift.
• Coordinate shift assignments and break schedules.
• Support physicians during rounds and patient rounds.
• Orient new staff and agency personnel on unit policies.
• Lead by example and boost team performance and morale.
• Monitor productivity and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Address patient and family concerns with empathy and professionalism.
