Job summary

MercyOne Genesis in the Quad Cities region seeks a Specialty Nurse - Med Surg - Advanced RN (IA) to support nursing clinical staff on 12‑hour night shifts. You will participate in interdisciplinary care, assess and plan patient care, and help ensure safe discharge.

Required are a Bachelor's in Nursing, Iowa/Illinois RN licensure, and 2+ years of nursing experience; ACLS/BLS certifications are needed with ANCC certification preferred. Holiday rotation and every other weekend scheduling apply.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree.
• Field Of Study: Nursing.
• Special Training: ACLS; Basic Life Support; Minimum of 2 years experience in nursing.
• Training Preferred: ANCC Certified in Medical-Surgical Nursing or related field.
• Licensures/Registration: Registered Nurse in Iowa and/or Illinois.
• Experience: More than 2 years experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patients' care and condition based upon observation, examination and other pertinent information.
• Identifies and recognizes changes in parameters and educational needs of patients and families.
• Implements nursing interventions to progress toward outcomes or stabilize conditions.
• Evaluates and documents patient responses and revises treatment plans as needed; contacts physicians when required.
• Participates in interdisciplinary care planning and ensures safe discharge readiness.
• Provides education to patients and families based on diagnosis and treatment plan.
• Schedules, assigns, and coordinates work; supports quality of care and staff guidance.
• Demonstrates nursing knowledge and supports student clinical experiences during rotations.
