Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with required sciences or military program meeting CLIA requirements.
• Degree with five college science courses (biology/chemistry) or equivalent military training to qualify as a medical laboratory technician.

Responsibilities

• Perform procedures on blood and body fluids using manual and instrument-based techniques.
• Use information systems to process specimens accurately and efficiently.
• Conduct phlebotomy as needed while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Follow established protocols under supervision of laboratory leaders.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.

Role Overview

As a Med Lab Technician, you'll perform essential procedures on blood and other body fluids, using manual techniques and advanced laboratory instruments. Working under the supervision of laboratory technologists and leaders, you'll ensure accurate and timely results that directly support patient care. Your role is critical in maintaining the high standards of our lab and contributing to the overall health of our community.

What You Will Do

• Perform select procedures on blood and other body fluids using manual techniques or laboratory instruments.
• Utilize information systems to ensure accurate and efficient processing of specimens.
• Conduct phlebotomy as needed, maintaining patient comfort and safety.
• Follow defined protocols and work under the supervision of laboratory technologists and leaders.
• Contribute to the maintenance of a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an Associate Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science.
• Alternatively, successful completion of an Associates or Bachelor's degree with at least 5 college courses from specified sciences or Completion of a military 50-60 week technician program meeting CLIA requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• MLT certification from ASCP or NCA.
