Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific in RTP, NC is seeking a highly qualified Pharmacist with Nuclear Pharmacy experience to join our team. You will provide clinical information, triage adverse events, and ensure regulatory compliance while supporting patient care.

Hybrid work arrangement: office one day per week in RTP; requires NC license and ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Bachelor’s/Doctor of Pharmacy degree and nuclear training are essential.

Qualifications

• PharmD or B.Pharm required; equivalency considered for suitable candidates.
• Active North Carolina pharmacy license required.
• Nuclear Pharmacy experience and training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to medical information inquiries via phone, email, or mail with professional accuracy.
• Identify, triage and document adverse events and product complaints per guidelines.
• Research medical literature and draft responses for complex inquiries as needed.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of SOPs, GCPs and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal and external client contacts to resolve complex inquiries.

What will you do in this role?

Provides technical and medical information, and/or performs intake of adverse events/ product complaints with high quality customer service. Analyzes and researches inquiries and documents interactions according to organizational, client and regulatory guidelines. The information provided will be given to a level in parallel with the individual’s expertise, experience and training.

• Responds accurately and professionally to technical and medical information inquiries received via phone, email, internet or mail in reference to pharmaceutical or device products. Processes fulfillments and provides clinical trial information or after-hours on call support.
• Analyzes caller’s questions to formulate an accurate and concise response using client-approved resources and records inquiries and interactions in the appropriate databases following organizational, client and regulatory guidelines.
• Identifies, records and triages adverse events and product complaints according to organizational, client and regulatory guidelines and provides additional support (including follow up) as needed.
• Maintains thorough knowledge of project and corporate policies and procedures including client products, SOPs, protocols, GCPs, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Works closely with internal and external client contacts (up to and including members of client management) to resolve complex inquiries. As needed, researches medical literature and drafts responses for such inquiries.
• May engage in advanced clinical conversations.

Hiring requirements:

Education:

PharmD or Bachelors in Pharmacy is required.

In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Experience:

Previous experience (comparable to 5+ years) in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry with responsibilities involving counseling or providing medical information to include leadership experience.

Nuclear Pharmacy experience and training

Authorized Nuclear Pharmacist, Board Certified Nuclear Pharmacist, or experience working in a nuclear pharmacy is required.

Active North Carolina pharmacy license is required.

Call center medical information specialist experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent language skills (comprehension, speaking, reading and writing); Fluency skills in a second language may be required
• Proficient computer and keyboarding skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to interpret client provided complex medical and technical information, including advanced topics such as pharmacokinetics.
• Organizational and time management skills
• Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor in challenging circumstances

Location:

Hybrid in the office one day per week, in RTP, NC . Relocation assistance is NOT provided.
