Job summary

Saint Elizabeth Community in East Greenwich, RI, is seeking a Medical Billing and Collections Specialist to bill and collect accounts receivable (Medicaid, Medicaid pending, private) and ensure accuracy of internal and external reports. Day shift, full-time position on-site.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in medical billing/collections, strong bookkeeping skills, and experience with government billing; associate or bachelor’s in related fields is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred in bookkeeping, accounting or finance.
• Three to five years of medical billing/collections experience required; long term care experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience and success in collections.
• Strong computer skills and ability to handle multiple duties and deadlines.
• Solid bookkeeping and reporting skills, and experience with government agencies that relate to finances.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for resident billing for above payors.
• Responsible for collections of accounts receivables for above payors.
• Record cash receipts and prepare deposits.
• Notify Department of Human Services of admissions, downgrades, and discharges on Medicaid Residents.
• Updates Medicaid pending with appropriate staff in addition to above payors.
• Communicates receivable issues with Office Manager and Administrator when necessary and in a timely fashion.
• Manage resident personal needs accounts.
• Other duties as assigned.
