Job description

New Journey, a Genesis10 company, seeks a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician (MRT) for a full-time position with our client.

Compensation: $28.30 per hour + $1/hr. night differential

This position is responsible for electrical and mechanical tasks on automated packaging and distribution equipment, utilizing knowledge to troubleshoot and repair control circuits, electrical distribution systems, and perform preventive/predictive maintenance.

Responsibilities:

1. Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
2. Maintain and troubleshoot all automated conveyor systems.
3. Lead and audit preventative electrical/mechanical maintenance procedures.
4. Perform PLC control diagnosis and maintenance (Allen Bradley).
5. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, photo-eyes, motor starters, limit switches, proximity sensors, solenoids, etc.
6. Utilize blueprints and schematics for safe and efficient maintenance.
7. Collaborate and build relationships across all organizational levels.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
• 2+ years of experience in repairing material handling equipment.
• 2+ years of conducting predictive and preventive maintenance.
• 1+ years of metal and wood fabrication.
• 1+ years of reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
• 1+ year of knowledge in electrical and electronic principles.
• Experience with procedure-based maintenance (PM).
• Ability to interpret metrics such as OEE/Up Time to prioritize tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate or higher degree in Mechanical or Electrical field from a vocational school or college.
• 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards.
• Project Management experience.
• Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Knowledge of computer networking systems.
• Experience with robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic input/output functions and logical devices.
• Basic proficiency with Linux command line interface.
