About The Role

As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment. In addition to developing your skills, you will mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles.

Key job responsibilities include:

1. Promoting a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
2. Completing preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
3. Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more.
4. Maintaining positive relationships across all Amazon Operations facilities and tracking inventory.
5. Moving up to 49 lbs and standing/walking during shifts up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Basic Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• 2+ years of experience in predictive and preventative maintenance.
• 2+ years of experience repairing MHE, conveyor systems, or related equipment.
• 2+ years of blueprint and electrical schematic reading skills.
• 2+ years of demonstrating Safety Standards.
• 1+ year troubleshooting MHE systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to troubleshoot basic building operation inputs and outputs.
• Experience with a CMMS.
• Continuous improvement mindset.
• Willingness to learn and grow within Amazon RME.
• Experience with MHE safety standards per OEM and safety standards.
• Degree from a vocational school or college in Mechanical or Electrical fields.
• 2+ years apprenticeship or similar experience.
• Experience with PLC controls systems.
• Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles.
• Experience with robotic operation and maintenance.
