Job summary

Hobson & Motzer, now part of Vantedge Medical, is seeking a Mechatronics Operator to safely run automated manufacturing equipment and meet high standards of quality and productivity at our Durham/Wallingford CT facility.

This 2nd shift role combines machine operation with entry-level maintenance, troubleshooting, and routine preventive tasks; candidates should be mechanically minded, detail-oriented, and capable of working with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
• Ability to learn multiple manufacturing processes and operate equipment safely.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and teamwork; able to escalate technical issues when needed.
• Willingness to work overtime and support production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate automated assembly equipment and production cells per instructions.
• Meet production, quality, and efficiency targets consistently.
• Monitor equipment alarms and perform routine resets and minor repairs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and replace worn tooling as needed.
• Maintain traceability and document production and inspection data.
• Escalate complex issues to Mechatronic Technicians when required.
• Support Lean initiatives and keep a clean, organized work area.
