Job summary
Thompson Pipe Group in St. Beloit, IL is seeking an Industrial Mechatronics Maintenance Technician to keep our steel pipe manufacturing equipment running safely and reliably.
You will diagnose, repair, and improve electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, supporting continuous production on first shift. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in electrical/mechatronics maintenance within manufacturing, strong understanding of 3‑phase motors and VFD/PLC troubleshooting, and a disciplined
Qualifications
- 5+ years as electrical/mechatronics technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Fluent in reading/writing English; Spanish a plus.
- Able to work with high- and low-voltage systems and 3‑phase motor circuits.
- Strong math skills for measurements and calibrations; proficient with test tools.
- On-call availability for emergency service during off hours.
- Solid mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic aptitude with safety focus.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Plan and execute complex maintenance tasks following safety codes.
- Install, start up, and shut down machinery per OSHA requirements.
- Coach operators on safe operating practices for electro-mechanical systems.
- Diagnose PLC issues and service AC/DC motor drives.
- Document work and identify reliability improvements.
