Thompson Pipe Group is a family‑owned company headquartered in Rialto, California, seeking an experienced Electro‑Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical production equipment. Position is located in South Beloit, IL 61080 and requires reliable commute or relocation.
Work Schedule
Mon‑Fri: Day Shift (10–12 hours/day). Overtime as needed. Some weekends may be required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment, including hoists, cranes, power supplies, boilers, scales, motors, gearboxes, cylinders, gauges and test equipment.
- Plan and perform work requiring knowledge of electrical and mechanical theories, local and national codes, material properties, and electronic equipment operation.
- Install, start‑up and shut‑down equipment per company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
- Advise operators and line mechanics on operational procedures and safety requirements for electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment.
- Inform management and line operators of potential equipment problems and associated dangers.
- Use diagnostic instruments to install, test, diagnose, repair and maintain production and building equipment.
- Work effectively with all levels of personnel, individually or in a team.
- Troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and AC/DC motor drives.
- Repair electrical components such as transformers, wiring, and electronic equipment.
- Adapt to new procedures and innovations that improve efficiency and safety.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as an electrical technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to perform Maintenance II duties.
- Strong reading and writing in English; Spanish language skills are a plus.
- Experience with high‑ and low‑voltage electricity, including 3‑phase motor branch circuits.
- Math aptitude for measurements, calibrations and use of diagnostic equipment.
- Availability for emergency service during off‑hours.
- Compliment of tools necessary for high‑level maintenance tasks.
- Good mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic aptitude.
- Positive leadership and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to contribute to overall operations and maintain a clean, safe environment.
- Must follow all safety procedures.
- U.S. work authorization required.
Requirements
- Pass a drug test.
- Pass a technical assessment covering job‑critical maintenance knowledge areas.
- Experience with mechanical systems such as gearboxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals and bearings.
- Experience reading and applying product manuals for repairs.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical breakdowns.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings (hydraulics, pneumatics).
Salary
$21.84 to $24.00 per hour, depending on experience.
