Job description

Your Week as a Mechatronics Field Service Engineer (Americas)

No two weeks are the same in this role. One week you might be supporting customers remotely from home, while the next week you are traveling across North or South America to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize advanced LAN installations.

Your week often starts by reviewing incoming service requests and preparing for upcoming customer visits. A customer in the United States may be experiencing an issue with the software in a production line, while another customer is planning a maintenance shutdown. You coordinate priorities, review technical documentation, and make sure you have everything needed for a successful intermediation[LE1] .

When you're not traveling, you provide remote support to customers throughout the Americas. You connect to machines, analyze software, troubleshoot issues, and help customers minimize downtime. Thanks to your knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and software systems, you're able to quickly identify problems and determine the right solution.

A large part of your time is spent onsite at customer facilities. During these visits, you perform inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and machine upgrades. One day you may be replacing mechanical components, while later in the week you are commissioning a software modification or investigating an electrical issue. You enjoy the variety and challenge that comes with working on complex automated production lines. As the eyes and eyes of LAN in the field, you continuously identify opportunities for improvement. You share recommendations with customers and provide valuable feedback to the Service and Engineering teams in the Netherlands.

It’s this combination of technology, travel, independence, and customer interaction that makes the role of Mechatronics Field Service Engineer so rewarding.
How you get things moving:
  • Experience in a service organization related to machine building or experience with industrial automation;
  • Knowledge of servo drives and knowledge of robot software (i.e. KUKA, FANUC, ABB and knowledge of PLC programming (i.e. Siemens, Rockwell, B&R);
  • Basic knowledge of ERP systems (Isah)
  • You possess competencies such; Customer and service oriented, decisiveness, problem solving, responsibility and autonomy
A completely new supermarket experience. Huh, what?! Really.

Once you come to work at Lan Handling, shopping will never be the same again. From that day on, you will turn over all the pouches, cans and jars you see. And always that check: yes, we also handle this product with our machines! But, of course, that's not all:

  • A home office
  • A working environment full of opportunities to develop further. Good idea? Any training wishes? Discuss it with your supervisor and get started
  • Do you work on site at a customer? Then we have an excellent reimbursement scheme
  • 10 Days of Vacation on Safeguard Global Contract (EOR construction) and 10 Days of Federal Holidays as listed in Safeguard Contract
  • Flexibile working hours, so that you can make time for sports, hobbies or just take your children to school quietly in the morning
  • An annual profit-sharing benefit. Because we feel that we do it together and everyone contributes to a positive result for the organisation, you also benefit from a financially successful year
  • Good travel expense
