Job summary

Opulo is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to take ownership from concept to shipping for our desktop Pick and Place machine. You’ll design mechanical parts in CAD, interface with PCBs, write small scripts, and help spin up manufacturing.

You’ll work across product, manufacturing, and sourcing to define next generation products, prototype, test against PRD specs, and prepare designs for production in a fast-paced, hands-on startup environment.

Qualifications

• Incredibly high agency and self-driven.
• Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, Onshape, Fusion, FreeCAD).
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; 2-3 years mechanical/integration engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Design next generation products with manufacturability and cost in mind.
• Prototype designs and test against PRD specifications.
• Collaborate with Product to determine approaches for customer problems.
• Work with Manufacturing to bring designs into production.
• Assist Sourcing with vendor communications, FAI, and quality standards.
• Design and fabricate jigs for production.
