Job description

Introduction

ASML brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography systems that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. As a Mechatronics Engineer in Wilton, you will specify, design, develop, realize, integrate, and test modules, tools, and system-level solutions in close collaboration with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will contribute to mechatronics engineering deliverables that scale by job grade, from executing defined technical work to leading complex module development, shaping technical direction, and driving system-level integration across multiple designs.

  • Identify, analyze, document, and manage technical requirements, including traceability and verification criteria.
  • Develop engineering concepts, design solutions, and technical tradeoffs to meet performance, cost, schedule, safety, and compliance needs.
  • Define specifications and high-level designs, align interfaces, and support design reviews and approvals.
  • Support system and product integration by coordinating dependencies, managing configuration needs, and enabling smooth execution across functions.
  • Plan and execute verification and validation activities, improve test methods, and ensure qualification evidence supports release readiness.
  • Estimate effort, plan and track work, manage risks and dependencies, and deliver assigned work packages or projects to agreed quality and timelines.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, share knowledge, coach or mentor others as appropriate for the role level, and follow EHS policies while identifying and mitigating safety risks.
Job Grade Scope
  • Job Grade 07: Leads complex technical design work within a discipline or owns a module-level scope that requires input from multiple engineers. Works autonomously on complex tasks and interfaces with suppliers or customers as part of a broader team.
  • Job Grade 08: Leads development of complex module parts and delivers technically complex solutions with full ownership. Considers industrialization and cross-team impacts, leads interfaces in less-defined environments, and guides a small group of peers through technical execution.
  • Job Grade 09: Takes full technical ownership and leads multiple complex designs end-to-end. Brings a broader view of system impacts and cross-functional dependencies, contributes to sub-module development, and drives solutions through significant technical uncertainty.
Preferred Education
  • JG07: BS degree in a technical field and 2+ years of solid experience. MSc preferred.
  • JG08: BS degree in a technical field and 5+ years of thorough experience. MSc or PhD preferred.
  • JG09: BS degree in a technical field and 8+ years of substantial general work experience. MSc or PhD preferred.
