Job summary

Brose New Boston, Inc. in Michigan is offering a three-year apprenticeship program. We provide hands-on mechatronics training, fabrication, and basic electronics/Pneumatic design, with progression from $16/hour and a $1 increase each year.

During rotations, tuition is fully covered and apprentices receive a $200 weekly stipend while attending school. Completion leads to a full-time Technician role at Brose after successful IHK/PAL examinations.

Responsibilities

• Understand preventative/predictive maintenance procedures for New Boston or Jefferson plants.

• Design and program simple PLC programs and ABB robot programs.
• Perform tasks that may require lifting up to 20 pounds.

Job description

Your Tasks

• Develop skills to be able to understand Preventative/Predictive Maintenance procedures and best practices at New Boston plant location or Jefferson plant location.
• Develop skills to be able to fabricate parts from raw material
• Develop skills to be able to draw/design simple pneumatic systems, and follow pneumatic schematics of complex machines/assembly lines.
• Develop skills to be able to draw/design simple electronic systems, and follow electronic schematics of complex machines/assembly lines.
• Develop skills to be able to program/design simple PLC programs, and follow existing PLC programs of complex machines/assembly lines.
• Develop skills to be able to program simple ABB robot programs, and follow existing ABB robot programs of complex machines/assembly lines.
• Physical requirements may include lifting and carrying objects up to 20 pounds

Your Profile

• Comfortable with Starting Pay: The program begins at $16/hour during work rotations, with a $1/hour increase each year throughout the three-year apprenticeship. Tuition for the associate degree is fully covered, and apprentices receive a $200 weekly stipend during the weeks they attend school.
• Complete guided training program lead by Technical Trainer.
• Learn basics of mechatronics, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Finish the program at an entry level of “Technician” role at Brose with successful completion of the IHK/PAL Examinations.
• Upon completion of program, Apprentices must commit to fulltime employment with Brose for two years.
