Job summary

Nesco Resource, LLC is seeking an Mechatronics Application Engineer I to support the quotation, design, and development of custom machinery and automation systems in New York. You will work under the Applications Manager and assist in preparing estimates, layouts, and documentation for projects.

The role emphasizes learning foundational skills in mechanical and electrical system design, costing, and automation concepts, with opportunities to travel to customer facilities as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• 1–4 years of automation equipment, machine design, manufacturing, or related experience.
• Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications to develop cost-effective mechanical, controls, and automation solutions.
• Support senior Applications Engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare process flow diagrams, conceptual layouts, and technical clarifications.
• Develop detailed estimates for engineering, software, machine assembly, and testing activities.
• Review vendor quotations and internal cost estimates for accuracy.
