Job summary

Ford is seeking a Mechatronic Systems Supervisor to lead Core Systems Engineers in defining and validating logical requirements for new mechatronic vehicle features. You will own the feature lifecycle from stakeholder elicitation to DFMEA sign-off and physical prototyping, ensuring on-time, high-quality deliverables.

The role requires a strong background in systems engineering, DFMEA, and MATLAB/Simulink, with 10+ years of experience and at least 2 years in a leadership position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or Automotive Engineering
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or mechatronic systems engineering in automotive
• 2+ years leading/supervising engineers
• Strong SE lifecycle knowledge: elicitation to validation
• Experience with DFMEA and cross-validation of functional safety
• Familiarity with requirements tools (Jama) and Agile/JIRA
• Working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink and hardware/software cascade
• Experience overseeing physical prototype development and test plans

Responsibilities

• Lead team through feature definition, requirements, and DFMEA sign-off
• Coordinate with program, customer experience, and vehicle architecture teams
• Own handoff of logical requirements to Mechatronics and support cascade to hardware/software
• Manage cross-functional sign-offs and program gateways
• Oversee physical prototyping, testing, and validation activities
• Mentor engineers and drive continuous improvement across the feature lifecycle
