Job summary

IT Impact Consulting seeks a Specialist, Mechanical Engineer – Mechanisms in Carlsbad, CA. This full-time, on-site role requires TS/SCI clearance and a strong background in precision mechanisms, mechanical design, and mechatronics.

You will work with Creo, 3D CAD, GD&T, and ASME Y14.5 standards for thermal and structural considerations. Relocation may be possible; candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree with experience or an advanced degree with fewer years, or substantial relevant experience

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance; a clearance active within the last two years may be considered
• Favorable polygraph required before starting
• Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of experience, graduate degree plus 2 years, or approximately 8 years of relevant experience without a degree
• Skills include precision mechanisms, mechanical design, mechatronics, electro-mechanical systems, Creo, 3D CAD, GD&T, ASME Y14.5, thermal/structural considerations, SWaP, actuators, custom gear trains, electro-optical systems, materials testing, manufacturing processes, additive manufacturing, DFMA, prototype/integration/testing, and PDR/CDR
• Available to work on-site in Carlsbad, CA 92008; exact secured worksite to be confirmed

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement precision mechanical designs for mechanisms and electro-mechanical systems
• Utilize Creo and 3D CAD to model, simulate, and validate designs
• Apply GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards for fabrication
• Assess thermal and structural considerations and SWaP constraints
• Coordinate prototype testing, integration, and PDR/CDR reviews
• Support manufacturing processes and additive manufacturing for rapid prototyping
