Job summary

V2X is hiring a Mechanical Worker II to support the Indianapolis, Indiana site. This role involves assembling, disassembling, repairing, and testing complex electronic, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural systems in line with military and aerospace specifications.

• Extensive knowledge of varied and complex electronic, electromechanical, and/or optical equipment/systems.
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze engineering drawings, production planning, and other technical documents.
• Proficiency in using pneumatic tools, electric tools, hand tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• Experience with light machining, sheet-metal work, drilling, riveting, and airframe repairs.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Assembles, disassembles, re-assembles, fabricates, repairs, tests, and verifies complex systems.
• Works with avionics, missiles, weapons controls, aircraft armament, bomb racks, launchers, and related equipment.
• Performs electrical duties, including component wiring and installation.
• Performs mechanical duties, including removal, installation, and adjustment of mechanical parts to precise tolerances.
• Performs structural duties, including light machining, sheet-metal work, drilling, riveting, and airframe repairs.
• Uses pneumatic tools, electric tools, hand tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• May assist other related job classifications when directed.
• Trains and mentors less experienced mechanical workers.

V2X is hiring! We are looking for a Mechanical Worker II to support the Modernization and Sustainment site in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Responsibilities

Performs highly specialized tasks related to the assembly, disassembly, re-assembly, fabrication, repair, adjustment, test, and verification of complex electronic, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural systems in accordance with common military, commercial, and aerospace specifications.

• Assembles, disassembles, re-assembles, fabricates, screens, repairs, adjusts, tests, and verifies complex systems.
• Works with a variety of systems, including avionics, missiles, weapons controls, aircraft armament, bomb racks, launchers, and associated equipment.
• Performs electrical duties, including the removal and installation of components, connectors, and wiring into cabinets, chassis, and console-type assemblies.
• Performs mechanical duties, including the removal, installation, and adjustment of mechanical parts to precise tolerances.
• Performs structural duties, including light machining, sheet-metal work, drilling, riveting, and airframe repairs.
• Uses pneumatic tools, electric tools, hand tools, precision measuring equipment.
• May perform informal, in-process checks on manufactured or processed items.
• May assist other related job classifications when directed.
• Trains and mentors less experienced mechanical workers.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• 2 years of experience in electronic assembly, rework, and repair is preferred.

Physical and Other Requirements:

• Requires bending, reaching, and lifting of objects within established guidelines.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required.
