Here's what you'd do:

• The Senior Mechanical/Utility Engineer is responsible for leading the design, installation, optimization, and maintenance of complex utility systems and heavy equipment.
• This role needs advanced expertise in mechanical engineering with specialization in industrial utilities including compressors, cooling towers, water management systems, and pneumatic systems.
• The Senior Engineer will lead projects, develop technical standards, mentor junior engineers, and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
• Lead the design, selection, and implementation of mechanical and utility systems for new and existing facilities
• Develop comprehensive specifications and technical standards for utility equipment and systems
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and qualification of heavy equipment and utility systems
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex mechanical and utility system issues
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
• Manage utility-related capital projects from concept through implementation
• Conduct technical reviews and risk assessments for proposed equipment and system changes
• Optimize utility systems for energy efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
• Develop long-term strategic plans for utility infrastructure improvements
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians on mechanical and utility system principles
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure utility systems meet production requirements
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs and engineering standards
• Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
• Lead root cause analysis investigations for significant equipment failures
• Implement OSHA standards in work culture to achieve zero recordable injuries at all times
• Develop and enforce safety protocols for utility systems operations and maintenance.

• Minimum 7 years of experience in reading and creating detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in energy conservation techniques and utility optimization
• Minimum 7 years of experience with engineering design software and simulation tools

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

• Master's Degree
• Professional Engineering (PE) license
• Expert-level troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex mechanical equipment
• Ability to perform complex engineering calculations and analyses
• Strong leadership skills with ability to mentor technical staff
• Excellent communication skills with ability to present technical information to various audiences
• Strong analytical thinking with meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to develop long-term strategic plans for utility infrastructure
