Sabre Industries, Inc. in Marshall, TX is seeking a Mechanical Trainer Technician.

This full-time, non-exempt role provides initial and ongoing training, creates work instructions, and supports safety, quality and productivity on the shop floor. You will interact with Plant Managers and Supervisors, train new staff, identify issues, ensure conformance to codes, and deliver electrical training programs while following blueprints and safety rules.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Ability to train new and existing staff to Sabre standards.
• Must read and understand safety rules and operating procedures.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and stay organized.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial, recurring, and remedial training on mechanical processes.
• Create work instructions and training materials under guidance of Quality Program.
• Communicate with Plant Managers/Supervisors about performance issues.
• Train and mentor new employees and those needing certification upgrades.
• Inspect equipment and ensure compliance with Sabre standards and safety codes.

Scope of Responsibility:

The Mechanical Trainer Technician provides initial, re-occurring and remedial job specific training. Creates work instruction and training preparations under the guidance of the Quality Program.

• Communicate with the Plant Managers, and Supervisors regarding mechanical personnel who are having difficulties performing to Sabre Industry standards.
• Assist with the training of new employees and employees needing refinement or up-grading of certifications.
• Assist and identify mechanical related issues (personnel, consumable or equipment related).
• Ensure that all mechanical personnel are operating within the SBS mechanical parameters for the procedures that are being used.
• High level of training capabilities, which ensures leadership and motivation of employees to attain high standards of safety, quality and productivity.
• Knowledge and awareness of the safety issues related to each operation performed within the department and must assure that all employees adhere to safe practices at all times.
• Must be able to follow blueprints to determine location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
• Able to complete special projects in all production aspects when needed in a timely manner.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Create, implement, track and oversee electrical training program not limited to: initial new hire training, function specific training, reoccurring training.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Training in vocational schools, or related on-the-job experience.
• Associate's degree a plus, but not required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Must be able to work efficiently under limited supervision.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail.
• Must be able to read, understand and communicate effectively in the English language.
• Must have demonstrated ability to accurately read blue prints, tape measure and comprehend documents such as safety roles, operating and procedure manuals.
• Ability to train.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials
• Must be able to work in an outside manufacturing environment for long shifts, including weekends
• Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual
• Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to extreme temperatures
• Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources.
