Job summary

Vertiv Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a thermal background to design HVAC and ventilation systems for data center facilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure drawings, calculations, and specifications meet project goals and codes.

You will develop SD, DD and CD narratives, perform CFD analyses, and support on-site integration and vendor coordination with a focus on quality, reliability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with thermal background.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit preferred.
• Experience reading construction drawings and equipment specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to research new designs for data center equipment and facilities.
• Ability to find cost-saving innovations without impacting quality or maintainability.
• Detail-oriented and precise in design and drawings.
• Strong MS Office experience.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC and ventilation systems from concept to detailed design.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal codes.
• Meet budgetary requirements while maintaining quality.
• Review and approve mechanical product submittals.
• Provide SD, DD and CD narratives for HVAC design aspects.
• Perform thermal transfer calculations and CFD analyses.
• Support integration teams with mechanical drawings and coordination.
• Prepare general layout drawings and specify ductwork, cable management systems.
