Job summary

RFA Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer to join our on-site team near Milwaukee, WI. You will manage the test process from requirements through final reporting, developing procedures, fixtures, instrumentation, and data analysis, while coordinating with design, product management, manufacturing, quality, and certification partners.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, hands-on testing experience, and strong data handling skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience with test instrumentation (thermocouples, pressure transducers, multimeters, data loggers).
• Ability to create clear, repeatable test procedures and professional engineering test reports.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft productivity tools.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory practices and calibration management.

Responsibilities

• Develop test plans and procedures from requirements and standards.
• Design, build, and verify test fixtures, test stands, and laboratory setups.
• Configure data acquisition systems and instrumentation to collect data.
• Conduct environmental, cycle and life, performance, functional, and certification testing on components.
• Prepare formal test reports documenting objectives, setups, methods, results, and conclusions.
• Coordinate product certification activities and inspections.
• Investigate test failures and support root-cause analysis.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, fixtures, calibration records, and test logs.
• Present results and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Travel for training or certification testing as needed.
