Job summary

Koch Companies seeks a Test Engineer to design and implement production test strategies for high-speed data cables. You will lead failure investigations, guide global teams, and help deliver quality products while supporting customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include developing and validating test plans, creating process documentation and work instructions, and coordinating test-system upgrades across regions.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Solid modeling and 2D drafting with industry standard software.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis (ASME Y14.5).
  • Understanding of DFM, DFA and DFX techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Develop production test strategies to support global manufacturing of high-speed data cables.
  • Develop, integrate, and upgrade test systems across regions, coordinating software development with design centers.
  • Deploy automated production test systems and direct resources for compliant use.
  • Create and execute test plans, perform verification/validation, and document results.
  • Create test process documentation, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Support DFM and manufacturing processes, and assist sourcing in supply chain solutions.
  • Provide technical support to customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Apply GD&T to engineering drawings and utilize FEA/analysis-led design approaches.

Our Team

The Test Engineering team is a global team that is responsible for designing and implementing production test strategies. This team of engineers is empowered to lead and drive teams through failure investigations and overcoming manufacturing barriers to ensure quality products are delivered while exceeding customer satisfaction.


What You Will Do


  • Develop production test strategies to support global manufacturing of high-speed data cables.

  • Develop, integrate, and make software upgrades to test systems used across multiple manufacturing regions including China, India, Mexico. Must coordinate software development activities within the design center departments including product development, manufacturing, marketing, quality, etc.

  • Work closely with multifunctional teams to ensure global deployment of automated production test systems for cable assembly products. Direct production test resources to ensure compliant use of deployed test systems.

  • Create and execute test plans, conduct requirements reviews, perform test verification and validation, analyze results and document results.

  • Create test process documentation, specifications, and work instructions.

  • Work with manufacturing engineering and fixture design engineering to support DFM and manufacturing processes setup, supports quality function, supports sourcing team in firming up supply chain solutions.

  • Provides technical support to customers, suppliers, and internal project teams.

  • Understands and apply Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) to engineering drawings.

  • Application of finite element analysis (FEA) and analysis led design approach.

  • Understand, support, and contribute to Molex TQM and Quality / Environmental Management Systems by following approved policies and procedures.

  • Other duties as required by management.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or B.S. Degree in an equivalent discipline.

  • High proficiency using analytical tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and others as required.

  • Proficient in solid modeling experience to generate 3D models & 2-D drafting through Industry standard 3D modeling software.

  • Working Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis, limits & Fits, ASME Y14.5.

  • Understanding of product/tool DFM, DFA and DFX techniques.


What Will Put You Ahead


  • Working knowledge of standard mechanical test equipment.

  • Good working knowledge in tooling design specially in Die & automation tooling, gigs & fixtures/pallets

  • 2+ years of experience in test and measurement
