Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Columbus, IN is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technical Support Specialist to support engine development, testing and data analysis on production and test rigs.

You will disassemble and reassemble engines, configure data systems, install engines in test cells, fabricate components, diagnose issues, and collaborate with engineers, technicians and suppliers. A safety-minded, adaptable team player with strong problem solving is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Disassembles and rebuilds engines and components; records measurements.
• Configures and operates data acquisition systems; analyzes data.
• Installs engines and components in test cells or test rigs.
• Fabricates piping, tubing, and brackets from prints.
• Diagnoses engine and test cell problems.
• Maintains and troubleshoots test engines and rigs; performs preventative maintenance.
• Interacts with customers, suppliers, engineers and other functions.
• Participates in maintenance of quality procedures and improvement projects.
• Develops and presents results to engineers and customers.
• Keeps workspace clean and follows safety policies.
