Cummins Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to support engine and component testing in a hands-on test-cell environment in Columbus, Indiana.

You will work closely with engineers to set up tests, troubleshoot equipment, collect data, and ensure reliable results. Responsibilities include preparing engines, configuring test setups, operating test stands, analyzing data, and documenting findings.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.
• Hands-on mechanical/testing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and test procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform engine, component, system, and controls testing in a hands-on test-cell environment.
• Build, install, and prepare engines and components for testing.
• Install and configure test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
• Operate test stands and analyze test data for accuracy and quality.
• Troubleshoot engines, components, controls, test stands, and test-cell equipment.
• Develop and execute test plans and prepare technical test reports.
• Use diagnostic tools such as Calterm, Asset, Cyflex, and related systems.
• Maintain test documentation and support continuous improvement and safety activities.
