Job summary

Enterprise Products in Midland, TX is seeking a Mechanical Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and replace mechanical equipment to maintain safe and productive performance. The role includes routine maintenance of pumps, motors, valves, and related components; you will also work on engines and perform startup activities.

The position features a 7 on/7 off rotating 12‑hour shift, a $10,000 sign‑on bonus, and opportunities to train under the Operator Qualification program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical certification or equivalent training in a mechanical environment or energy related field preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years mechanical experience required.
• Minimum 5+ years gas-fired, engine-driven compressor experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with basic troubleshooting and maintenance skills required.
• Experience in maintenance and repair of reciprocating engines and associated components required.
• Must have a current driver's license and good driving record.
• Ability to read and understand, analyze and interpret documents, equipment repair manuals, reports and federal, state and local codes and regulations.
• Basic computer skills such as MS Word and Excel required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Routine maintenance of centrifugal pumps and electric motors such as bearing and seal replacements, alignments, couplings, sumps, fans, drain piping modifications.
• Maintenance on other mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, air compressors, valve actuators, etc.
• Maintenance and repair of reciprocating engines and associated components.
• Assist with replacement of pumps, motors, valves, and other equipment including foundation work, initial alignment, testing, and startup.
• Participate in training programs, process safety management reviews, and safety meetings to comply with regulations.
• Reviews procedures to ensure compliance with company and industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Completes time records and required regulatory reports.
• Maintains contact with Area Supervisor regarding maintenance trouble reports and downtime to minimize throughput interruption.
• Performs remedial and preventative maintenance and maintains safety and housekeeping standards.
• Trains others to learn duties of Mechanical Technician and may supervise contractors.
