Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Mechanical Associate to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition vehicles to meet safety and quality standards in a modern, climate-controlled facility. You’ll work with a collaborative team, gain hands-on experience with domestic and foreign vehicles, and contribute to customer confidence.

New hires may receive up to a $5,000 bonus based on experience, with ongoing training and growth opportunities at CarMax, a leading used-car retailer with a national footprint.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Strong understanding of health and safety compliance.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Skilled at managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Maintain ASE Certifications as required by state/local law.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to meet CarMax’s high standards for quality and safety
• Collaborate with a skilled team to solve technical challenges quickly and effectively
• Gain hands-on experience across domestic and foreign vehicles
