Job summary

Becton Dickinson (BD) in Columbus, NE, is seeking a production equipment technician to setup, changeover, maintain and improve equipment to meet quality and quantity targets. You will train operators, lead on-the-floor activities, and ensure adherence to BD quality systems and safety policies.

The role requires reading/writing English, a high school diploma or GED, and an associates degree in a mechanical field is preferred. You may work in a clean room and must follow GMP rules.

Qualifications

• Mechanical skills/education/background required.
• PPE and safety requirements: respirators and annual fit testing may be required.
• HAZWOPER training may be required and Chemical Emergency Response Team membership may be required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for doing changeovers and setting up the equipment properly.
• Keep equipment running in a good state of repair to meet production and quality standards.
• Generate accurate maintenance records and other records as required by management.
• Responsible for machine cleanliness and preventive maintenance.
• Provide coverage for others who are absent.
• Help operators run equipment and provide assistance during operators' break times.
• Actively participate and lead teams, including scheduling, process improvement, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Work safely, handle chemicals properly and ensure the safety of work mates.
• Comply with other requests made by management
• May work in a clean room environment and follow GMP rules.
• Other duties as required to support the needs of the business
