Job summary

Copeland LP in Sidney, Ohio, is seeking a first-shift? actually third-shift HVAC/R Mechanical Technician to design, develop, and qualify compressors for HVAC/R systems.

The role collaborates with product and research engineers within our lab facilities to ensure quality and performance of testing processes. Responsibilities include operating lab equipment and interpreting test data, with a shift differential of $3.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus 1–3 years of experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Basic mechanical, HVAC, and/or electrical/electronic skills required.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Basic computer skills and MS Office proficiency.
• US work authorization; sponsorship not provided.

Responsibilities

• Follow engineering lab test instructions to test variable speed compressors.
• Set up and install compressors and related electronics for testing.
• Operate lab equipment: calorimeters, mass flow stands, data acquisition systems, etc.
• Set up and operate variable speed drives for testing.
• Fabricate test fixtures and controls for non-standard tests.
• Review test data for compliance with standards.
• Assist with lab upkeep tasks.

To maintain our role as a global leader of compression solutions, we continually seek talented and ambitious technicians to work in our engineering laboratories.We are seeking a first shift HVAC/R technician to contribute to our growth and continued innovation.

AS AN HVAC/R MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN,YOU WILL:

• Follow engineering laboratory test instructions to performancetest variable speed compressors
• Set up and install compressors and support compressor electronics for test purposes
• Operate laboratory test equipment including calorimeters, mass flow stands, data acquisition systems, and other measuring equipment used to acquire compressor performance characteristics
• Setup and operate variable speed drives for testing purposes
• Fabricate supporting test fixtures and controls required for non-standard tests
• Review test data for compliance with applicable test data standards
• Perform various tasks related to the upkeep of the lab

SCHEDULE:

This position is on the third shiftand would consist of five eight-hour workdays starting Sunday night through Friday morning and would be eligible for voluntary overtime.Working on third shift, you earn a shift differential of $3.50 an hour.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

• High school diplomaplus one to three (1-3) years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must have basic mechanical, HVAC, and/or electrical/electronic skills
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs
• Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

• Associate's degree plus three (3) years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experienced in mechanical, HVAC, and/or electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair
