Responsibilities

  • Follow engineering laboratory test instructions to performance test variable speed compressors.
  • Set up and install compressors and support compressor electronics for test purposes.
  • Operate laboratory test equipment including calorimeters, mass flow stands, data acquisition systems, and other measuring equipment used to acquire compressor performance characteristics.
  • Setup and operate variable speed drives for testing purposes.
  • Fabricate supporting test fixtures and controls required for non-standard tests.
  • Review test data for compliance with applicable test data standards.
  • Perform various tasks related to the upkeep of the lab.
  • Complete required tests and communicate test results with engineers; provide input on optimizing work processes to improve lab efficiency.

Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will work in conjunction with product and research engineers to design, develop, and qualify compressors for HVAC/R systems. We are seeking a first shift HVAC/R technician to contribute to our growth and continued innovation.

AS AN HVAC/R MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN, YOU WILL:
  • Follow engineering laboratory test instructions to performance test variable speed compressors

  • You will be responsible for completing required tests and communicating test results with engineers. You will provide input on optimizing work processes to improve the overall efficiency of the lab
SCHEDULE:

This position is on the second shift and would consist of five eight-hour workdays Monday through Friday and would be eligible for voluntary overtime. Working on seconds shift, you earn a shift differential of $2.50 an hour. This role is based fully onsite, and not eligible for hybrid or remote work opportunities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
  • High school diploma plus three (3) years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have basic mechanical, HVAC, and/or electrical/electronic skills
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs
  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
  • Associate's degree plus three (3) years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experienced in mechanical, HVAC, and/or electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair
