Job summary

Micro Precision is seeking a calibration technician to calibrate a variety of instruments, maintain standards, and document data. The role involves working in the local laboratory and at customer sites with travel up to 25%. Training is provided to expand skills and knowledge while upholding safety and quality.

The candidate will handle calibration data, certifications, and clear communication with customers and colleagues, contributing to accurate measurements and reliable service.

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Basic Knowledge of Mechanical and Dimensional equipment preferred.
  • Experience in basic instrumentation and manual tools preferred.
  • Basic mathematics understanding.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work both independently and under the supervision of Senior Technicians.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate a variety of test instruments across multiple skill areas (Electrical, Industrial, Temperature).
  • Perform standards maintenance and checking of company standards as assigned by Lab Manager.
  • Collect calibration data and record information on data sheets; complete certification including out of tolerance conditions.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with team members.
  • Observe safety procedures and quality standards in all tasks and comply with company policies.
  • Communicate calibration issues and procedures clearly with customers and coworkers by phone, in person, and via email.

About this position

Description: Responsible for calibrating a variety of test instruments for one or more skill areas, such as:

  • Electrical Equipment
  • Industrial Equipment
  • Temperature Equipment
  • Perform standards maintenance & checking of company standards if assigned by Lab Manager
  • Collect calibration data and record information on data sheets. Complete calibration certifications, including out of tolerance conditions.
  • Continue to be trained in all aspects of Micro Precision Calibration Services and share gained knowledge and other best practices with other team members
  • Observe safety precautions and quality standards in the performance of tasks and compliy with the company
  • Clearly communicate calibration issues and procedures with customers and coworkers on the phone, in person and through email
Requirements

Work Environment
  • Work performed in local laboratory and at customer facilities
  • Up to 25% out of town, overnight travel
