Job summary

Micro Precision is hiring a Calibration Technician to calibrate test instruments across multiple skill areas, maintain standards, and document calibration data. The role requires attention to safety, clear communication with customers, and teamwork in a local lab environment.

The position involves travel to customer sites up to 25% of the time, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working under supervision of Senior Technicians to grow skills in calibration services.

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and dimensional equipment preferred.
  • Experience in basic instrumentation and manual tools preferred.
  • Basic mathematics understanding.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in MS Word and Excel; ability to work independently and under supervision of Senior Technicians.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate a variety of test instruments across skill areas such as electrical, industrial, and temperature equipment.
  • Perform maintenance and checking of company standards when assigned by Lab Manager.
  • Collect calibration data and record on data sheets; complete calibration certifications including out-of-tolerance conditions.
  • Continuously learn all aspects of Micro Precision Calibration Services and share knowledge with teammates.
  • Observe safety and quality standards in all tasks and comply with company policies.
  • Clearly communicate calibration issues and procedures with customers and coworkers by phone, in person, and via email.

Requirements

Work Environment
  • Work performed in the local laboratory and at customer facilities
  • Up to 25% out of town, overnight travel
