Job summary

Veolia is seeking a skilled fabrication technician to assist in assembling and fabricating components for water treatment equipment. Tasks include operating drills and saws, working with PVC and stainless piping, and following strict safety and quality standards.

You will read engineering drawings, participate as a key member of the assembly team, and maintain clean work areas while adhering to EHS policies. Some heavy lifting and use of cranes/hoists may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: trade school certificate in mechanical trades.
• Experience in mechanical trades such as auto repair, HVAC, plumbing is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assemble water treatment equipment from drawings as part of a team.
• Fabricate and assemble PVC and fabricated metal piping spools.
• Follow EHS rules and maintain clean, safe work area.
• Read shop orders and bill of materials and perform tasks accordingly.

Job Summary

Responsible for assisting in the fabrication of various components and/or whole parts to support the production and manufacturing of specialized water treatment equipment and associated systems. This position requires forklift operation, scissor lifts, drill presses, belt sanders, band saws, bench grinders and ironworkers. Assists in fabricating and manufacturing various components of specialized equipment used in industrial water treatment applications Proper and safe use of drill presses, belt sanders, band saws, bench grinders, ironworkers, and other specialized equipment to fabricate parts and water treatment systems. Pipe-fit various materials such as PVC, CPVC, fiberglass, and stainless steel. Practice good safety procedures in order to keep self and others injury free . Follow good housekeeping practices by keeping fabrication and tool storage area neat and clean as well as timely cleanup of work area after each job is completed , Perform confined space entry in small tanks with 14x18" manways. Maintain records and reports as required.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Follows all EHS rules and produces quality work.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the assembly of PVC and fabricated metal piping spools in strict accordance with established quality and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards.
• Demonstrates the proficiency to interpret complex engineering drawings and adhere to rigorous engineering and quality specifications.
• Reads and understands shop orders and bill of materials.
• Assembles water treatment equipment from drawings as a member of a team.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Work as a member of a team and independently.
• Desire to advance to higher level mechanical technician roles
• Basic mathematics skills.

Education & Experience

• Required:
  • High School Diploma/GED
• Preferred (if applicable):
  • Experience working in mechanical trades such as auto repair, HVAC, plumbing, etc.
  • Trade school certificate in mechanical trade.

Working Conditions

Must be able to perform work with appropriate PPE for work (safety toed shoes, safety glasses, bump cap/hard hat, etc.) Majority of day will be spent standing with some bending and fine motor work appropriate for work in a fabrication shop. Ability to operate power tools such as drills, grinders, and saws. Some sitting and computer work is required. Some unassisted lifting up to 50 lbs. is required - nearly all heavy parts movement assisted with cranes/hoists and pallet jacks.

Compensation

The compensation range is tied to the market for similarly bench-marked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate's knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $19-22
