Job Type: Temp-to-hire

Pay: $21.50/hr. with opportunities for advancement

Shift: 1st Shift | Monday – Thursday, 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Position Overview

Snelling is seeking a mechanically inclined Mechanical Technician for a manufacturing company in Louisville, KY. This hands‑on position involves the complex assembly and construction of industrial machinery and equipment.

The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background and enjoys working with their hands, diagnosing problems, and putting mechanical systems together. Candidates with experience in automotive repair, diesel mechanics, equipment maintenance, or advanced mechanical assembly are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex mechanical assembly of industrial machines and equipment.
• Assemble and install mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components.
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and assembly drawings.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and precision equipment to complete assemblies.
• Install, align, and connect components according to specifications.
• Identify mechanical issues, troubleshoot problems, and make necessary adjustments.
• Ensure completed assemblies meet quality and performance standards.
• Work independently and alongside team members to complete projects on schedule.
• Assist with various manufacturing and production activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical, automotive, diesel, equipment maintenance, or industrial assembly experience required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand how machines and mechanical systems operate.
• Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical components.
• Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, or electrical systems is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, or technical drawings preferred.
• Machining, welding, or fabrication experience is a plus.
• Trade school or technical training preferred.
• Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic and problem‑solving skills.
• Flexible and willing to assist with various production and assembly needs.
