Allscreens Nationwide Ltd in Barrow is seeking Mechanical Technicians to support safe, reliable gas production and processing facilities.
This is a contract role inside IR35, paying £350 per day PAYE, with a focus on maintenance, defect repair and equipment reliability.
You will operate in a highly regulated environment, supervise contractors, and contribute to continuous improvement in safety and plant performance.
We are looking for Mechanical Technicians to be based in Barrow to support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of gas production, processing and condensate storage facilities.

You will be a safety-focused, proactive and technically capable Mechanical Technician with a proven track record of maintaining critical process plant equipment.
You will be confident working in a highly regulated environment, able to solve complex technical problems and committed to delivering reliable, efficient and safe operations.
The successful candidate will undertake routine engineering maintenance and defect repair activities, ensuring the reliability and scheduled availability of operational plant and equipment while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical technician with a strong background in the oil & gas, petrochemical or energy sector to play a key role in maintaining critical assets and supporting operational excellence.
Maintenance & Operations
Carry out routine and non-routine maintenance activities on plant and equipment in accordance with approved procedures and operational requirements.
Diagnose and investigate complex technical issues affecting critical plant equipment and implement effective solutions to restore normal operations.
Undertake defect repairs and fault-finding activities to maximise asset reliability and availability.
Carry out commissioning and decommissioning activities to support operational and maintenance programmes.
Contribute to the design, development and commissioning of plant modifications, including recommending improvements to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and prepare technical reports using recognised company systems to support future analysis, continuous improvement and audit requirements.

Promote and support an Incident Free Workplace culture through compliance with company standards, procedures and HSE requirements.
Ensure all work is carried out safely, with appropriate permits and controls in place to protect people, plant and the environment.
Maintain compliance with relevant legislation, industry regulations and company policies.
Participate in emergency response duties and maintain the competencies required to fulfil designated emergency response roles.
Leadership & Teamwork
Supervise contractors, vendors and other personnel undertaking maintenance activities, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently and in line with company expectations.
Build strong working relationships across departments and organisational levels.
Share technical knowledge and provide guidance to colleagues as required.
Effectively communicate technical information, recommendations and operational updates both verbally and in writing.
Maintain and develop technical, behavioural and leadership competencies in line with industry best practice.
