Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation seeks a Mechanical Systems Technician to maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, and vapor-control equipment at terminals in Mount Airy, LA and Montgomery, AL. You will work with operations, engineers, and vendors to ensure reliability and safety, with travel up to 50% as needed.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of related experience preferred, and the ability to pass DOT medical guidelines for vehicle operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• 2 years of related field experience preferred; terminal operations or PLC experience is a plus.
• Ability to read technical manuals and electrical schematics; strong mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment and run tests to diagnose mechanical/electrical faults.
• Repair and replace parts, perform preventive maintenance and record results.
• Coordinate with engineers and operations to install new equipment and improve reliability.
• Maintain DOT records and operate maintenance management systems.
